Homemade Pork Sausage Patties

1 Net Carbs | 8 Servings | Time: 10 Minutes

Today I’m digging into breakfast sausage patties. My mind is blown—I had no idea how easy it was to make them at home! I always thought sausage was some mythical processed meat product that must be purchased from the store. In reality, you can literally just season some ground pork and fry it up for a keto-friendly, sugar-free alternative to the store bought stuff. Guilt-free and simple!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs – ground pork (I used 85% lean)
  • 1/2 Tbsp – salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp – dried sage
  • 1 tsp – garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp – black pepper
  • 1/25 tsp – nutmeg
  • 1/25 tsp – dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp – red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp – avocado oil

Directions

1. Mix
  • Create the spice mixture by combining salt, dried sage, garlic powder, black pepper, nutmeg, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes.
  • Add the spice mixture to 1.5 lbs ground pork.
  • Mix with your hands until evenly combined. Don’t overwork!
2. Form Patties
  • Divide into portions and form into patties.
  • Aim for 2-3 oz each for traditional breakfast patty or 4 oz each for sandwich-size.
3. Cook
  • Heat 1 Tbsp avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add sausage to skillet and cook 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
